Learn how to create your own electronic dance music tracks using Ableton Live.

Prerequisite: None
Duration: 3 hours x 4 weeks
Timing: Every Sunday at either 12:30 p.m. (March & August) or 6:30 p.m. (January, May & November)

Here's what you'll learn

How to make a beat: Get to know Ableton's essential functions and how to set yourself up, then learn how to make a sick beat in MIDI or how to sample one you like!

How to create melodies: No musical background? No problem! We'll teach you how to create melodies that sing. And if you already play an instrument we'll teach you how to transpose what's in your head into a track.

How to arrange a track: Learn about the different elements of a track and how to structure them to feel like a professional production. Intro, breakdowns, drops and grooves are connected by risers, rolls and filters... we'll teach you how they all piece together.

How to mix a track: Kick drum too loud? Vocals hard to hear? Learn how to balance the sounds in your track so they sound great together. You'll but uploading your track to SoundCloud in no time!
